Disabled people to be recruited as volunteers for Commonwealth Games
D.N.I.S. News Network, India: In a bid to make the upcoming Commonwealth Games a success, the Commonwealth Organising Committee has launched an inclusive recruitment and training programme for volunteers which will also include persons with disabilities. The programme called ‘Delhi United’ aims to ensure that Delhi is remembered for hosting the best Commonwealth Games ever.
Thirty thousand volunteers comprising of persons with disabilities, senior citizens, professionals, homemakers, and students of international community living in Delhi will be recruited, trained and deployed for the Games that will be held from October 3 next year.
