Centre directs its departments to fill up vacancies for disabled people
D.N.I.S. News Network The Ministry for Personnel, Public Grievances
and Pensions has directed its departments to ensure that vacancies that have
been earmarked for disabled people are filled up at the earliest. It has also
stated that there should be no deviation from the scheme of reservation.
The Department of Personnel and
Training, has asked all Government departments to prepare the reservation
roster registers as provided by it since the enforcement of the Disability
Act, stipulating reservations for disabled people.
An official memorandum that has been circulated in this regard states, If some or all the vacancies so earmarked had not been filled by reservation and were filled by non-disabled persons either for the reasons that points of reservation had not been earmarked properly at the appropriate time or persons with disabilities did not become available, such unutilised reservation should be carried forward to the first recruitment year occurring after issue of this memorandum and be filled as such. If it is not possible to fill up such reserved vacancies during the said recruitment year, reservation would be carried forward for further two years.
