Vishwas: Self-employment opportunities in Rajasthan

DNIS Network News - The Rajasthan government has instituted new schemes under which cooperative banks will give loans to promote self-employment among disabled people.

To promote self-employment among disabled people, cooperative banks in Rajasthan will give loans of Rs 50,000 to persons with disabilities. The Social Welfare Board will make a contribution of Rs 10,000 to the loan.

A spokesperson for the Social Welfare Board said that in order to motivate disabled people to become self-reliant, the Rajasthan government has instituted two new schemes titled 'Vishwas'. Under scheme one, disabled people in Rajasthan, between 18 and 55 years of age, who have more than 40 per cent disability and whose monthly income from all sources does not exceed Rs 2,000, will get a loan of Rs 50,000 for self-employment.

Under scheme two, families who have two or more than two disabled members in their family will be entitled to all the benefits that are given to people living below the poverty line.
