Unemployment allowance to vision impaired in Haryana hiked
D.N.I.S. News Network – Haryana Government has hiked the unemployment allowance for people with vision impairment, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced this while promising to implement the three per cent reservation for people with disabilities in the state government jobs.
The Chief Minister said during a 10-day camp for disabled people that in case of matriculate and diploma holders with visual impairment, the unemployment allowance had been raised from Rs 400 to Rs 1,000 per month and in case of graduate and matriculate pass diplomas holder, it would be Rs 1,500, instead of Rs 500 per month. Similarly, unemployment allowance for the post-graduate and graduate diploma holders had been raised from Rs 600 to Rs 2,000 per month.
The State Government has also hiked pension for people with hearing and speech impairment and mentally disabled -- from Rs. 300 to Rs. 600 -- besides these hikes it would also spend Rs 33.35 crore for the welfare of physically challenged during the current year.
The Chief Minister also informed the media persons that the age relaxation for upper age limit for recruitment to the government jobs would be extended by 10-years for people with disabilities. The camp was organised by District Red Cross Society, Faridabad, Lions Club International and Bhawan Mahavira Sahayta Samiti, Jaipur.
