Meet on multiple sclerosis in Chennai
D.N.I.S. News Network – The
Common symptoms of the disorder include muscle weakness, depression, poorly coordinated speech and pain. “Research is going on for detecting the cause of the disease, but no conclusions have been drawn yet. The condition is managed only by addressing the symptoms,” German Neurologist Peter Reickmann said during an interactive session with patients. Jack Burke, Clinical Professor of Medicine (Neurology), University of Nevada School of Medicines, U.S.A., said that medical insurance should be provided to patients affected by M.S., as its treatment was very costly the world over.
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of India has proposed to have a walk on 25 February 2007, to create awareness about M.S. and to reach out to those with M.S.
