Diamond maker to employ 1000 disabled people
D.N.I.S. News Network, India: Gitanjali Gems, a Mumbai based diamond and jewellery maker recently set up ‘Saksham’ training centre in the Rajiv Gems Special Economic Zone (S.E.Z.), Hyderabad. The training centre is aimed at empowering people with disabilities and is expected to generate 1000 jobs for them within the next three years.
Speaking on the occasion, Mehul Choksi, Chairman and Managing Director, Gitanjali Group said, “The training centre will boost our efforts and increase employment of persons with disabilities within the industry.” Currently, Gitanjali Group employs nearly 200 disabled people in its Hyderabad factory.
