Punjab to provide free legal services to disabled persons
DNIS News Network - Free legal services to mentally and physically disabled persons on the anvil.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the District and Sessions Judge of Amritsar, Gurdev Singh, announced that the State Legal Services Authority would provide free legal services to mentally and physically disabled persons. People from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes category and undertrial prisoners with an annual income of less than Rs 30,000 can also avail of this benefit.
Singh addressed the women present and said that there was a dire need to remove illiteracy in the state and educate womenfolk about their rights.
