Dates for West and South Zone Consultations finalised
D.N.I.S. News Network, India: The dates for South and West Zone Consultations on the topic 'New Law versus Amendments’ have been finalized. The South Zone Consultation will be held on April 16 and 17 in Chennai and the West Zone Consultation on April 24 and 25 in Mumbai. The consultations are being organised by National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (N.C.P.E.D.P.) in association with Vidya Sagar in Chennai and National Association for the Blind in Mumbai.
The disability sector has been demanding a new disability law based on United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (U.N.C.R.P.D.). A National Consultation on this issue was organised in New Delhi in October last year. The consultations for North Zone and East Zone have already taken place earlier this year.
