Disabled professors find no place in DU
DNIS News Network -- Delhi University does not pay heed to emloyment for persons with disabilities
The 3% reservation for the disabled in appointment of teachers, ordered by the Delhi High Court nearly three years ago, seems to have gone unnoticed by Delhi University (DU).
Students claim that only five disabled scholars have been appointed as lecturers since March 2002. "Despite repeated pleas no action has been taken to implement the court verdict," said Bipin Tiwari, a PhD student in political science who has been trying, unsuccessfully, for a teaching job for several months.
