New economic reforms passed for disabled people
DNIS News Network - The new reforms passed by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs will benefit disabled people immensely.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs of the United Progressive Alliance (U.P.A.) Government has approved modifications in the prevailing Assistance to Disabled Persons scheme (A.D.I.P.) for the purchase of aids and appliances. The modifications include hike in income eligibility ceiling for 100% concessions from Rs 5,000 per month to Rs 6,500; and for 50% concession from Rs 6,501 to Rs 10,000. Over 3.4 lakh disabled people are expected to benefit from these modifications.
