Simple test to detect walking problem

DNIS News Network -- Researchers in New York have discovered a simple test to detect walking problems in patients suffering from peripheral arterial diseases.

A simple and easy test, called the Ankle Brachial Index can now be used to detect future walking problems in patients with peripheral arterial disease.

This disease is a condition involving hardening of blood vessels in the legs and other parts of the body. The ABI is the ratio of the blood pressure in the ankle to the pressure in the arm.

The test can be done in just a few minutes using standard equipment.
