DNIS News Network - The National Thermal Power Corporation (N.T.P.C.) has invited proposals from individuals and institutions for projects to create opportunities of sustainable self-employment for persons with disabilities.
Under the scheme the N.T.P.C. foundation will hand out a fixed one-time fee for each selected proposal, which is “practical, can be implemented and monitored effectively.”
The financial assistance will range from two to 30 lakh rupees, and even more for deserving proposals. According an advertisement posted by the corporation, the proposals should have a focus on sustainable self-employment for “individuals/groups of visually challenged and/or hearing impaired persons, preferably between the age of 18 and 36 years.”
The corporation’s role would not be restricted merely to handing out financial grant for the short listed self-employment projects but it will also assist disabled people by giving them training in business management, marketing and technology to undertake the project.
“The financial support will be extended in the form of venture capital or giving/arranging loans with appropriate subsidy or interest,” says the announcement.
The call for proposals, along with project feasibility reports outlining the details of the scheme/idea, will be open till 25 July. [Further details can be had from www.ntpc.co.in/csr]
