High Court steps in to allow dyslexic student to write the Board exams

D.N.I.S. News Network, India: Payel Sarkar, a dyslexic student in Kolkata can now write the class XII Board exams, thanks to the timely intervention of the Calcutta High Court. The school authorities that had initially revoked her admit card were directed to allow her to write the examinations which began on March 10.

Justice Biswanath Somadder of the Calcutta High Court instructed the Principal of Central School, Fort William to issue the admit card to Payel and urged Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.) to convey the information to all schools that they must take care of their disabled students.

Payel was refused an admit card because she did not have adequate attendance.
