D.N.I.S. News Network, India: National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (N.C.P.E.D.P.) is organising a National Convention on Youth with Disabilities in December. The objective of the Convention is to identify and inspire the next generation leadership of not just the Indian disability sector but also those who would be agents of change in other fields and to expose them to the social sector movement in India, including disability and other allied fields.
The Convention will have around 50-70 participants from Universities and Colleges across the country. In the run up to the Convention, N.C.P.E.D.P. conducted a survey of the top 300 and more Universities and colleges on the number of students with disabilities pursuing courses through them. The results of the survey are also expected to be revealed during the Convention.
